News Item: Dutch Festival Will Celebrate Art, Culture, Cuisine
A pair of world premieres, as well as several U.S. premieres, are among the plans for Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s Distinctively Dutch Festival, set to begin Feb. 18.
In all, 18 events will take place during the four-month festival of art and cultural exhibits and performances, which Gabri Christa hopes will make Pittsburghers more aware of the richness of the contemporary Dutch art world.
“I’m hopeful they will see the diversity of Dutch art, and that innovation is a large part of the Dutch cultural tradition,” says Christa, director of performing arts for the department for cultural affairs at the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in New York City, who assisted the Trust in organizing the festival.
