The Album: ” The Mosaic Project” of Terri Lyn Carrington has won the best Grammy in the category: “Best Jazz Vocal Album”. The dutch Saxophone player Tineke Postma has four solo’s on the album. In total 21 female musicians worked on the album including Esperanza Spalding, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Gretchen Parlato, Dianne Reeves and Cassandra Wilson. Since 2005 Tineke has been part of several formations of Terri Lyn Carrington and Terri has played on three of Tineke her albums. This Summer, Tineke Postma will appear with the Mosaic project on the major Jazz Festivals in Europe.

News Item: Winners of the Edison Jazz/World Awards announced
The 2011 winners of the prestigious Dutch Edison awards have been announced: among them Tineke Postma, a renowned jazzsaxophonist. The award was given to her for the album ‘The Dawn of Light’, which the jury praised as a sign of great and stable progress in Postma’s musical carreer. The jury also noted the fine cooperation and synergy between Postma and her quartet (Marc van Roon on piano, Frans van der Hoeven on bass and Martijn Vink on drums).
The Dawn Of Light is Postma’s latest CD which was released in March 2011. Tineke recorded in Germany and New York with her Dutch Quartet fetauring Grammy Award Winning artist Esperanza Spalding. Her remarkable compositions and artistry have been acknowledged before with several awards, among which the Jazz Juan Revelations Award 2009 (Antibes Juan-les-Pins Jazz Festival), and the prestigious Midem “International Jazz Revelation of the Year Award” in 2006.

News Item: Tineke Postma releases new CD in the US
With the September 13, 2011 release of “The Dawn Of Light” in the US, the award-winning Dutch saxophonist TINEKE POSTMA further expands the growing fan base for her music. Tineke is a well know musician who recently played at the Jazz Standard in NYC. She will be on stage again in the US next year during in Pittsburgh as part of the Distinctively Dutch Festival.
The new CD features Tineke’s Dutch Quartet with Marc van Roon on piano and Rhodes, Frans van der Hoeven on bass and Martijn Vink on drums. Bassist, singer and Grammy Award winner Esperanza Spalding, is featured on one track called “Leave Me A Place Underground.” Of working with Tineke, Esperanza says: “I’m so grateful to be a part of this record…Tineke’s beautiful spirit and musical sensibility sing through the entire album in her playing and writing.”
