“Last Touch First” captivates audience with their US premiere
“Last Touch First” held its US premiere this past Friday and Saturday night at the August Wilson Center, as part of the Pitsburgh Dance Council’s 2011-2012 season.
The choreographic process began as a small idea when dancers Michael Schumacher and Sabine Kupferberg decided to collaborate on a duet for the Holland Dance Festival. But when they looked at Jiri Kylian’s 2003 piece, “Last Touch,” for inspiration, they decided to develop that work into something larger, which meant adding four more performers.
