News Item: Hardwell among many Dutch DJs taking over Vegas clubs

Here’s a phrase you don’t hear every day: “The Dutch Explosion.” But it exists. Most of last weekend’s biggest star DJs at Electric Daisy Carnival were Dutch. “I think maybe 70 or 80 percent of the lineup are Dutch DJs. Hardwell (born as Robbert van de Corput in Breda, Netherlands) is a progressive and electro house DJ and music producer. Breaking into the scene in 2009 with his bootleg of “Show Me Love vs. Be”, he has produced multiple hit EDM singles such as “Encoded” and “Cobra” and also made collaborations and toured with Tiësto. In 2010 he formed his own label Revealed Recordings and was ranked number 24 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ list for 2011. Alongside other artists like Alesso, Deniz Koyu and R3hab, Hardwell was named an EDM artist to watch in 2012 by MTV.

Chemical Magazine: Hi, How are you?
Hardwell: I’m doing great! Just woke up after a powernap and heading towards dinner and the club later on.

Chemical Magazine: Firstly, I would like to congratulate you on being nominated for “Best Breakthrough DJ” for the International Dance Music Awards. How are you feeling about that?
Hardwell: Thanks! It’s an honour to get nominated for such a big award! I’ve had a great year in 2011 and I’m it’s going very well in 2012 also. To get a nomination for an award out of USA is also something special as it shows the recognising I get in the States. I played here a lot past year and the crowds are nothing but amazing here.
