- From the other world(s)…
- Time is ticking…
- First contact is now a fact!
Apex is Holland-based but moves a lot. Crossing cultures could be mentioned as one of his principles. He has been moving trough the international underground scene and loves to create and operate in a musical atmosphere that has no boundaries or restrictions. His latest EP, “The Arrivals”, reflects his cross cultural and non-boundary vision. It was recorded at the legendary French Hip-Hop studio, The Sound Musical School, which is located in the well known neighborhood La Savine of Marseilles’s urban scene. Six tracks on the EP were produced by his Marseillaise friend and producer, Hypno. Two songs on the EP are containing vocals of Marseillaise artists. Like the song “Sometimes I(t) Feel(s)”, which was recorded with L’adjoint and two members of Carpe Diem, Picrat and REDK, who definitely belong to Marseilles’s finest. Also, the song “Try Again” with female singer Meya Officiel (an upcoming talent from La Savine, who debuts on Apex’s EP) proves that there is no restriction in creativity. Another example is the first song on Apex’s EP, “The Arrivals”, which was produced by Symphony, one of Detroit’s well known producers. Symphony connected with Apex in Detroit City during one of Apex’s creative expeditions. And these creative expeditions are far from being over… stay tuned… for the album, “First Contact”. Also to look out for in 2012 are remarkable releases and collaborations of Apex with established as well as up-n-coming artists and producers from Sweden, Jamaica and the United States in particular. Keep an eye and ear out for the featuring of Apex on their albums as well in return. We cannot forget to mention the legendary Hip-Hop originator Kool Koor from the South Bronx. He played a huge role in Apex’s life. It was him who took Apex (going through a turbulent phase of his life at the time) under his creative wing and inspired as well encouraged Apex to take “life” to another level and share his multiple talents with the world. Even though Apex has been on a silent creep up, his name definitely rings a bell in different spots throughout the globe. For quite some time he stuck to guerrilla tactics. Why? Let’s say he had his reasons for that. Now, the time is right. The sound is right. The message is right. Come take a closer look. Lets explore the water ripple effect: What happens when you toss a stone into the water? Exactly, the surface will buckle then ripple. And those ripples on the water will get bigger and bigger! Keep an eye (and an ear) out for Apex, Apex Aurilliuz. The unexpected visitor has made his arrival!
