Babak Andishmand (Bobby) was born in Tehran during times of war and suppression. At the age of three he fled with his mother, never to go back. Having spent a lot of time in the US since childhood he was drawn by the melting pot that Europe somewhat lacked. At the age of fourteen he started writing poetry and later developed a passion for photography and painting, but eventually found himself in the Audio Visual Arts. When he was seventeen he decided to apply for the Rietveld School of Art & Design and graduated in 2009. In his work he tries to tell his story by depicting that of others. Creating situations and guiding subjects or themes through his works, exploring the narrow line between both fiction and reality as well as content and esthetics.

Salon Ciel is pleased to announce the launch of “Take Two,” a three-day film festival on November 2-4, 2012, presented in collaboration with Theater 80 St. Marks, an East Village landmark known for creativity, daring and innovation.

Both screenings will be followed by an Q&A with Babak ‘Bobby’ Andishmand.
