The Grand Re-Map: Music designer Lars J. Brouwer and dance artist Leyya Tawil are traveling city to city, remapping specific locations through direct experiences. For The Grand Re-Map, Lars’ location specific scores are built solely on locally collected sound samples. Leyya’s dance material is sourced from human interactions at each location, while governed by universal structures.Their duet extends to include participatory re-mapping by the audience, local guest performers, and adapts to each venue. By documenting all events on line, they gradually replace a geographic map with an experiential one.
