Lotte van den Berg’s PLEINVREES / AGORAPHOBIA on Times Square in New York as part of the Crossing the Line Festival

Thursday & Friday, September 20 & 21, 2012 at 3:00PM
Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11:00AM & 3:00PM
Times Square / Crossing the Line Festival – New York, NY

Award-winning director Lotte van den Berg has been making waves in Holland as one of a new generation of artists described as the ‘young Dutch minimalists’.

Pleinvrees/Agoraphobia explores the impossibility of being together: we desire to be among people yet fear it; we hope to share our lives with others, but fearful of loss, we keep to ourselves.

Performed amidst the bustle of Times Square, a solitary man walks around, apparently talking to himself. Yet his words are streamed to bystanders and eavesdroppers— audience members who have called in to listen to him on their cell phones. Pleinvrees/Agoraphobia is at once an intimate performance about how this solitary man experiences the world and an insightful experience for an audience of spectators and passers-by.

FREE admission, RSVP required to find out exact location and the phone number you will need to dial!!!
