Petra,who is living in NYC, studied at Dansacademie Brabant and Rotterdam Dance Academy. She first came to New York with a VSB grant. Renowned Dutch filmmaker and cinematographer Leonard Retel Helmrich is the first two-time winner of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) as well as the winner of Sundance’s World Cinema Documentary Grand Jury Prize, amongst many other awards. He will join Union Docs on Saturday to present his controversial 2006 documentary Promised Paradise, which asks the following questions: How can one believe that terrorism leads to heaven?
