News Item: Joop van den Ende receives honorary degree from Nyenrode Business University
Dutch Theater, Television and Film producer Joop van den Ende will receive an honorary degree from the distinguished Nyenrode Business University in September later this year. “Joop van den Ende is a symbol of successful entrepreneurship in the Netherlands as well as abroad” says the Dean and CEO of Nyenrode University.
Internationally, Joop van den Ende is known for producing many successful musicals, such as ’42nd Street’, ‘Urinetown’, and ‘Into the Woods’ on Broadway, and the international television hit ‘Big Brother’ that he co-created with Dutch producer John de Mol (forming one of the biggest producing companies EndeMol). He also owns several international theaters, such as de Nieuwe DeLaMar in Amsterdam and New World Stages in New York.
In 2011, Van den Ende received another honorary degree from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam for his role as a pioneer in the cultural sector.

News Item: Artistic leaders of Speeltheater Holland, Onny Huisink and Saskia Janse, honored and appointed as Knights in Order of Orange-Nassau
On 19th of July 2012 on the opening night of Mysteries on Marken both artistic leaders of Speeltheater Holland, Onny Huisink and Saskia Janse, were honored and appointed as Knights in Order of Orange-Nassau (Ridders in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau) by the Mayor of Edam, on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands,
The Order is a chivalry order for a person who deserve appreciation and recognition from society for the special way in which they have carried out their activities. Saskia & Onny are given this special honor because of their contribution for more than 37 years to the Theatre for Young Audiences and Puppetry, as well as in the Netherlands as in many countries abroad.

Netherlands’ Dekoor Close Harmony won The World Title in both the Jazz and the Popular Music Category at the 2012 World Choir held earlier this week in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2010 they were also World Champion of Jazz at the World Choir Games, then held in China. July 18th, Dekoor will perform in collaboration with the New York based professional vocal ensemble Salvatones at the Park Avenue Christian Church in New York.

News Item: Jan Mulder nominated for the Hollywood Music in Media Awards and best new comer in the ZMR Top 100
Dutch pianist / composer Jan Mulder entered the ZMR Top 100 Radio Airplay Chart with his latest album ‘The Piano Dreamer’ at # 16.
Currently he is at #1 of best new comer, despite having other artists such as Yanni enter at the 47th place.
Last week, Jan also was nominated for the Hollywood Music in Media Awards with the title song ‘The Piano Dreamer’ in the category Ambient music.
